Does anybody have any experiance with growing Fodder for their chickens? I am setting up an aquaculture system in my greenhouse and was thinking of adding some fodder trays. I know goats, cows and horses all can eat the fodder no problem but they eat the whole root mat. Just food for thought! 7 days to full harvested fodder may be worth investigating

Thanks! most of our aquiculture stuff is going to be veggies for us but it doesn't take long to throw in an extra couple of trays, the Tilapia make plenty of waste for the plants! We were actually looking at the cost of doing a fodder system for the cows goats and horses. It seems like a lot of money up front but the benifits look pretty favorable (not to mention we wouldn't have to bust our @ss to cut as much hay!)

ok this thread has become quite large. I am going to try this this weekend. I will be trying to simple storage container way. I just dont know how long to soak the seeds, and do i rinse and drain or leave in water? Then once in the containers how often do i water and how much? I know to poke holes so that they drain so I am assuming not to water too much. but how often?
