Yes. Image in post#49 is from a satellite image used by software that programs drone. Drone imagery is vegetation of yesterday that is much taller and end of fall blooming season. Last two images most interesting to me as they depict some of the habitat the birds use.

I am in a race against time to get image printed in a form that can be carried outside to be marked with data recordings. Need detail good enough so we can see where we are by comparing ground at our feet while looking at image on paper.

got some surveying in with a drone. Chickens watched. Computer working overnight to stitch almost 300 images into one that gives 3D effect.

The land from above looks vary different from below. Nice camera I know how hard it is to get a good picture with those things.

The unit involved with respect to just camera cost several thousand dollars. The air platform with controller is of similar value. Then you have the $7,000 GPS units that are used to calibrate locations. I had no idea those little contraptions where so expensive.

wow - did you win a grant to fund this research project ?

A co-worker has a grant to survey plant communities / crops. He was willing to try the imaging system on a more complex plant community and I provided him with a target for testing.

Last night we had a major weather event involving a lot of wind. Several large items and even tree branches were blown over. That will be a navigation issue.
