Hello Friends,
I hope all is well!

There are three fertile eggs under my hen.
Due date is the 3rd of next month. My Dad and I have been talking...

We were wondering if it is possible to take freshly laid fertile eggs, and put them in a safe spot for awhile...(This is for the next hatch)...

When a hen goes broody and the eggs are under her, will they stay alive after setting for a certain amount of days?

And how many days would the eggs stay okay, before used?
Is this a myth? Fact or fiction? Please tell!!

If this does not come across clear, or worded right, please tell me.
Thank you very much!

Sincerely,
The Angry Hen

Sounds clear to me..I think!
You are wanting to store fertile eggs for a while and wait til a hen goes broody and stick them under her?
Right?

You should collect eggs daily for incubation. Store in an egg carton with the fat end up at about a 30 degree angle, rotate the higher end of the carton daily. It's best not to store them for more than 10 days for best hatch rate.

Once an egg is set on, and the incubation process begins stopping it by removing them will generally kill the embryo.

Hello, Thank you very much for replying with the info!
That's what I thought, but I didn't want to take chances!

Thanks again I will look into that!
