One of my neighbors horses had colic last week. Now the vet says they need to give him 1/2C.-1C. of food grade mineral oil every day for the rest of his life. The vet wants $32.00 a gal for it. They are having a hard time finding food grade. My step father who just retired from his vet practice said he didn't know there was a food grade, he thought it was all the same.

My question is : Is there a food grade? and where can it be bought at without a huge shipping charge?

Get it from the pharmacy at Walmart! I also had no idea where to find it and then I stumbled across it when I was searching for castor oil for soap. Now I have some for my cutting boards and bowls. And in case my horses get sick:)
