My husband used to make beer. He no longer does and I have bags of different wheats and malts to get rid of, I was just wondering if I can feed any of it to my chickens? Thanks for the input!!

Hi there, welcome to BYC! :frow

Lots of things (including wheat, barley, hops, etc) are fine to feed out as long as it is done as a treat, not to exceed 10% of their total daily intake of a formulated ration... in order to maintain vitamin and mineral/amino acids where they should be.

If they are still whole... you might even be able to sprout (fodder) them first... fed at day 3 or 7 is good. :)

Hi welcome to BYC, eggcited to have you here. They will love you forever with them kind of treats, just remember not to exceed the 10% of daily feed as treats..

You could also mix them in a bucket filled half way with grains and finished with water, then stir 2 times a day, I do it when feeding they, then back fill as you take some out, some will start to sprout but makes more nutrition available to them than just feeding straight dry.
