Hemet I am with you on your concern. I agree this could be dangerous.And if someone didn't want to have any inspections then could they still sell their stuff ?
I have to wonder, though, what if this is allowed but the people selling their product is required to declare that they have not been inspected, and that they are required that customers should be allowed to see the facilities the products were raised and processed in?
Perhaps set up a graduated system? Different grades of inspection in which the producer must declare on their food such as " inspected" with the name of the inspector signed off, and the group the inspector came from such as FDA or an independent inspection group and what was inspected and what it was inspected for. Or "uninspected" But they must list what preventative actions such as vaccines were taken.
This would put the power of choice into the farmer and consumer's hands, but would have a system available for people who want to show that their food has been inspected and graded.
