Food Storage Ideas Needed

I recommend using metal cans with metal lids.
I tried 5 gal plastic buckets with lids and the squirrels ate right through them.

If you have a bakery in the area you can usually get food grade buckets with lids cheap or free. I get mine from Walmart or the grocery store bakery for $1 each.

Doyou have a picture or link for these? I need something low cost and was ideally looking for square containers!!

Most bakeries get frosting in 3 gallon buckets, or other assorted sizes. Some are square, but all are usually plastic. They will give away, or sell cheaply. I have a couple dozen that DH brought home from whole foods free, but lidless. I just picked up lids at home depot for $1.50 each.

Mine are 3 gal size--same diameter as a 5 gallon, but easier to move--hold about 20lbs feed.

Ive only ever found the square buckets at walmart. You have to go to the bakery department and ask for them. They had cake icing in them and look like the picture above.

Those look good. Nice idea at the bakery department.
My daughter has 10 hens and she uses metal garbage cans as they are secure and hold a bag of Purina Omega feed.

I too got buckets from my bakery , $2 each . But i store my 50 pounds of seed in a raccoon proof garbage can from
Amazon , I love it because it has a hinged lid .

Easy to scoop too.
