Bumblefoot? Skin infection? I do think I might’ve spotted some scaly foot mite issues. This is a almost 6 year-old bar rock hen. Still eating OK expressing a little bit of discomfort with her legs on occasion. Any help would be appreciated and identifying this thank you.

Have you looked at the bottom of the foot? If it's bumblefoot, there will usually be a big crusty black scab on the bottom of the inflamed area. Sometimes the webbing can also get packed with rocks/mud and get stretched and swell a bit without being infected, to me this does look more abcess-like. It looks like the same thing may be present on the left foot in a milder form as well.

Welcome To BYC

Can you get some photos of the bottom of her feet?
Hard to tell if it's Bumblefoot or if she has a dirt ball in the webbing of the foot.

Her scales are slightly lifted and worn looking. It wouldn't hurt to apply some vaseline, NuStock Cream or oil to the legs/feet working it up under the scales.

It looks like both scaly leg mites and the type of bumblefoot in between toes. Treatment can including foot soaks with Epsom salts or Betadine added for 15 minutes daily, removal of any scabs, possibly lancing and squeezing out pus, or surgery. Sugardine dressings are also good in combination with pus plug removal. Here is some reading:

Today I set the chicken in a warm Epson salt tub for like 15 minutes and then dried it dried her feet and then sprayed it with a bomb which is for the scale foot mite condition. I did see, and I believe it was in the bottom of both feet of black blotch so it probably is Bumblefoot then I’m thinking I tried to rub the area to make sure it wasn’t embedded dirt or anything and I could not remove it. I didn’t know if perhaps I should try to carefully make an incision in those bumps that are on the top in between the web to see if there’s pus in there. But I don’t think I will do that. I’m gonna give her these bags again, at least a couple per week and try to spray this stuff on. Are there any other treatments for the bumble foot or any other particular medication’s? Thank you very much.
