I several narrangansetts that are about six weeks old. Earlier today I noticed one of them picking at the webbing between its toes on one foot. I picked it up and I'm closer examination saw what looked like a tear or hole right where the webbing meets the foot. It wasn't all the way through the webbing and doesn't look like an injury. It looks more as if it began as a blister and is now an open sore. It did have a yellowish color to it which makes me think of maybe a small infection. There is no swelling however. I did everything I knew to do which was clean the entire foot with a damp rag, then pour peroxide over the entire foot, let it dry, then carefully clean the wound with an alcohol swab. Any idea what it could be? It doesn't seem too bad at this time. Just don't want it to get worse. Their living conditions are very clean and they aren't living in a large amount of feces as the litter is changed daily. Other than the occasional step in poop they are kept clean. Thanks for any help or insight.

I would be concerned about it pecking at it. It may continue to peck and make it worse. Do you have any blue kote on hand that you can spray on it? Can you wrap it up for now?

No I don't have any blue kote. I thought about wrapping it but haven't attempted to yet. I was afraid the others would drive it nuts picking at the wrapping. Its been a couple of days and there isn't any change. Not worse but not better either. I'm still cleaning it the same way I described a couple times a day. You are right though. It is picking at that foot a couple times a minute.

The Blue Kote would stop them from pecking at it. Do you have access to get some? Try wrapping it and see what happens? Monitor the others and see if they peck it.
