Thanks, Eggcessive. The key word in all this seems to be "injected." Well, mercy, dabbing a little Neosporin on a wound is a far cry from injecting a bird with lidocaine, isn't it!It is not that you can never use pain relievers or canines in chickens, but since large dosages may be toxic and fatal, only small doses can be used safely, or avoid them if possible. Vets do use lidocaine during surgery for chickens but are very cautious about dosage.
