Foot injury: break, sprain or something else?

Noticed one of my girls has toe that wont curls and is pointed in an odd direction. Picked her up and had a feel around the joint, it's solid and there doesn't seem to be any swelling. The toe won't curl after the affected joint and it seems like the other toes on the effected foot curl slightly to the right instead of straight down. She doesn't seem too fussed by it, aside from not being able to run and sometimes having trouble repositioning on the roost. I was wondering if anyone might be able to tell what's happened and if there's anything we can do to fix or ease the problem.

I'm not sure what the injury is, but you don't want it to heal incorrectly. That could cause her a lifetime of issues. I would treat this kind of like crooked toe. I know that's obviously not what it is, but the solution should be the same.

That link shows you how to essentially make a cast to let the foot heal the right way. It's not too complicated, compared to other methods. Also, make sure to keep the foot very clean. Good luck!

The chickens had owners before us, and in the begining we didn't pay too much attention, it's possible that this is an old injury that's already healed. She doesn't seemed fussed by it, and when i picked her up and had a feel it felt hard at the joint. Do you think it's worth trying to move (the toe is very stiff and refuses to budge when i apply moderate pressure) or it's maybe a foregone conclusion?
