For all you Snake-Huggers, and those that are scared but curious

Great Snakes! Glad to see some herpers here! Those snakes are absolutely stunning! I have a date set with my Anerythristic corn girl with a boy of the same type. I can hardly wait to try our hands in babies when they're adults.
And wow, a retic? Wow!

Well after reviewing you pics and looking at all of your snakes my mystery snake was definately a black rat snake.....after we did the deed it looked exactly like the one in your pic but bigger.....

Now I miss my ball python! He passed away several years ago, we got him as an unknown aged adult from the pet shop I worked at when no one could get him to eat and had him for several years after. He ate adult gerbils. ONLY gerbils. That was fun, after I no longer worked at the shop, to go and find someone that wanted to sell us a "cute little gerbil" as a feeder-but we could always find someone that had one that was too old to sell. In fact, he got out once and was found sleeping in my cockatiels cage. They were less than thrilled, he couldn't have cared less. He was a very chillin snake, I think he hissed once in the whole time we owned him. My dog flipped iout whenever she saw him, and we had family that wouldn't visit even if I swore he was safely in his enclosure.

I've never been a huge fan of the corns, kings and rats, more of a boa/python fan. Retics...that is NOT a pet for a beginner, I think those should be restricted when sold. Too many people get them as cute little babies and can't handle them once they grow. Plus they tend to have a bit of a temper.

I'd like to get a ball again someday....

Nice to see an invert keeper too! Should start a thread about them too. I have a smithi and an avic here, my bf has a maculata, an emp that charges to attack you whenever you're nearby, and a pede.

I agree 100% with you Downtime on large snakes, way too many burms and retics being sold to people who have no place keeping them, people just dont understand the time, money, space, and danger it is working with a fully grown giant snake. All they see is the 'cool' factor.

Just going to post too that my shipping boxes finally came in so I do have multiple snakes for sale (including some pictured here) if anyone is interested, just PM me!

Cool pics! Beautiful critters, although I'm not a snake fan myself. Hey, do broody snakes bite when you put your hand too close to the nest?

Some do, but most just kind of push you away with a coil. They've lost so much energy though after laying that they really dont care.

I love them, from a distance

Hope that's okay to say

But, I am petrified of them! I wasn't scared of them when I was kid :rolleyes So, why I am now, I have no idea. Maybe, because I can't determine what kind they are or if they are poisonous.

We took our girls the Dallas Zoo, and they had some very pretty ones there.
