Not exactly on topic, but have you (or anyone) seen the documentary "Sweet Misery" about Aspartame? A real eye opener there into one corner of the food market.

Interesting which of these documentarys would you suggest regarding honey and what is in processed honey these days. I have had from 1 to 10 hives for 8 years now. Never thought I would have the worse allergies in the city I was born and raised in but soon learned instead of taking one more pill I just eat the honey I steal from them.... yum. Those little buggers are fascinating.

not enough memory on my old old computer. I've never liked honey my whole life! Then about two months ago I bought some honey at the swapmeet that was raw, and it was absolutely yummylicious!

We already raise meat rabbits, turkeys, ducks, chickens, & have goats. We're looking for an area to move in evansville, Indiana where we can have our animals. Then we're going to get more animals

Huge controversy over honey in BC (Canada). The local small honey producers ares spitting mad!
It seems through our Government's short sightedness they have allowed imports of honey from China and other places. Now any beekeeper knows that is not a good idea as their honey is substandard. Who says they are not just feeding the bees sugar and water? Who knows what is in the honey. The underground word is two shipments of Chinese honey were sent back as it was contaminated. With what, who knows?
The law now states, a honey producer can add imported honey to their own stock and call it their own under their company label. There is a percentage amount, some sources say they can add up to 90% of imported honey. I don't know for sure if that is true.
But it has to be labeled Canada #1 honey, not pure Canadian honey. Canada #1 means it has met the standards of #1 honey but what are the "standards". Do they test for chemicals and pesticides? Doubt it.

See what I mean, it is all in the wording. They can get away with all sorts of things by loopholes in the wording.
I am sure the same thing is going on in the USA.

I buy only 100% local honey from the little honey farmers. Honey farmers that put their hives high up in the mountains were it has been logged. The bees feed on wildflowers and flowering bushes etc..

They have found antibiotics in honey. How did it get there?

I just watched the documentary called The Last Beekeeper, it is so sad. I really feel for honey producers and beekeepers. My Father always had bees and it is a really cool hobby. To see the bees die by the thousands would be heartbreaking.

The KFC PETA video would have been better if they stayed away from sensationalism. At the 50sec mark it's stated that the particular chickens used are slaughtered at 2 months, and would have had a normal lifespan of 15-20 years which is obviously not true for meat birds.

There's a bit on youtube for a series the BBC did a few years ago called Supermarket Secrets. A good deal of it has to do with chickens without the shock & awe, although there are plenty of disturbing footage. Here's the link to the 10 part playlist which seems like a lot but I watched the entire thing wanting more each time.
