For people with unfriendly chickens

wow, interesting about the red attraction,
I purchased some gardening clogs last week, they are made of rubber and are made in France!
They were $49.00 but she sold them to me for 1/2 price!!!
They are the best shoes for chicken people, You leave them at the back door and never wear them inside!!!!waterproof too.

Mine are attracted to blue because they always got treats in a blue plastic bowl. Now I can't go out with a blue or green plastic tumbler with any drink in it because I get mobbed.
Oh, and I also have the perfect "chicken shoes". They're called OLD LOAFERS and brand new they cost $9.99, LOL.

They, too, never get worn inside.

Funny! I thought my chickens were the only ones to love my crocs. Although I believe they love the person wearing the bright pink crocs who brings them treats!

Seriously though, I do love my crocs for the chicken yard. They sit in the garage and never come in the house, and I spray them off with a hose when needed. I have on occasion also thrown them into the washer with rags and bleach....come out looking like new!

I, too, have some blue Crock shoes that I always wear out to the chicken run. My pullets are in love with those shoes. My daughter and wife have discovered that these shoes are the secret to getting the girls to huddle up to them, too.

I actually think that since I'm the one that usually gives them treats (oats, vegetable scraps, grapes, blueberries, etc.) they have come to associate the treats with those particular blue colored Crock shoes. A couple of the Red Sex-Link Pullets will stand on my shoes if given the opportunity. The Barred Rock must think my toes are live, yummy treats since she will peck at them through the vent holes in these shoes.

I googled crocs too. What I found I thought were called flip flops or, I know, showing my age here, when I was young they were called thongs. Then, just a few years ago mind you, I discovered (I won't say how) what thongs are these days.

I know I wouldn't want my chickens going after it!!

I have some old sandels I use and they have beads on them, the chickens think they are seeds and peck my feet everytime I go near them.

My crocs are bright green. We have a store here called Gabriel Brothers (Gabe's) and I got mine for $2.49.

I had to retire the flip flops, my roos killed my toes everytime.

Becky, regoogle. Crocs do make a thong sandal but they are the later version of them. Crocs are closed toe clog like things with little vent holes in the toes. The back is either out or you can flip the strap around from the front to the back to have a strap on the back. They are made out of some kind of foamy rubbery stuff that is lightweight and hoseable. They are perfect for the chicken yard. They stay on the porch, rain does not affect them, and they are highly durable.

I had to laugh, reading this thread! I love my fake Crocs. I love to cool my feet off with the hose and then squish, squish around the yard!

Also, just let me say, you don't want to serve chickens watermelon when your toenails are painted red! Ouch!
