For the drive home

Last time we picked up chicks the guy had the type of boxes that held 12 dozen egg carton on hand. Of course if you go to a feed store they will provide little boxes. I made my suggest since sometimes the boxes are very large and a small box holds the heat much better.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I got them all home safely yesterday. I ordered 10, received 11, and all are alive and well. I think they were a bit stressed from all the travel yesterday (I figure probably 9 or 10 hours total) so they were pecking at each other a bit but they seem settled so far today.
 
I do love watching them the first few days while they are making sense of their surroundings. Baby chicks peck each other's toes and beaks and even their own toes. I hope you enjoy your new chicks are much as we do ours!
