This year the first full moon after the spring equinox falls on Friday April 6. (usa northern hemisphere full moon)

Lent is a time of penitence and the words of Psalm 51 are used here asking "Lord, have mercy on me." Whoever wrote the Wiki article on the Miserere did a good job too.
