I wouldn't use cat litter...then you couldn't compost with the droppings. I use pine but am thinking of going with newspaper...it can be composted too. And since I get the paper every day, well I can't think of anything better to do with it (seeing what's in the paper these days)

Sprinkle baking soda on the litter trays.

~Saddi, who doesn't wear pants.

I dont put anything on the tray, the quail do a good enough job of kicking sand onto the tray that it does the trick, and i dump it into a rubbermaid container every three days. I think the thing that helps is the water and food is all external and the poop dries out quickly. I dont notice any putrid smell and neither does the wife, or i would hear about it!

Where can I find more info on this method? I have 14 eggs due to hatch on the 23rd or 24th and need all the info I can get beforehand

i put the poo in the path between the rows of gardens

By the time the poo/nitrogen gets to the plants root system, it isn't hot anymore and it burns up all the weeds

Weeding and fertilizing all in one shot... but I don't walk through my garden barefoot anymore

this is the side feeding method
