I incubate at 30-35% RH and hatch 70-75% RH.

I don't have experience with the Genesis model and have not read any reports on it's hygrometer accuracy. General rule of thumb is trust nothing. It may behoove you to purchase a small Acurite hygrometer at Wallmart and perform a salt test on it to calibrate for humidity. Other will chime in that own this popular unit and hopefully they address the validity of this models hygrometer. Reports on it's preset temperature is very good and from what I've read you are able to make minor fine tune adjustments to that if needed. Most plug it in and start incubating, shouldn't be a need to adjust the preset temp.

I incubate at 20 to 35 humidity. Raise to 70 for lockdown. No water til lockdown then fill most tracks in the plastic tray with warm water.

I agree with egghead jr. Don't trust any gauges on any incubator without double checking them with a known to be accurate guage.

I have the 1588 digital and dip switch. The digital temp is very accurate. The incubator holds temp well and comes back up quick after you open them.

The humidity guage is close. Always double check.

GOOD ADVICE from both here! I purchased the Acurite hygrometer from Walmart on the advice of another BYC member and it has served me well!!! I just had to replace one of my old(10 years of successful hatches) incubator and also purchased the hovabator genesis 1588 so it will be my first hatch with my new unit

Still have my trusty Acurite hygrometer in there and so far the incubator reading and Acurite hygrometer reading are a match!!!
