Well, I was sucked into one of those department store demos yesterday and bought a set of Forever Sharp knives from Twin Towers Trading company. I was doing well and only going to walk away with the free pairing knife for watching the demo until they came to the scissors.....I always like a good sharp pair of scissors.

Has anyone else ever bought/used these knives. Are they half decent?

Cheers,

I walked away with a pairing knife once. That was about 2 years ago and I still have it! I LOVE it and wished I would of bought the set.

I bought some at Wal-mart once after a little demonstration because I was a poor college student and needed knives -- any knives -- because the two I had in my box of college dishes were really awful. Getting about 14 knives for 10 bucks seemed like a deal I couldn't pass up. I thought the Forever Sharp knives worked pretty well, especially the bread knife. I'm not certain I was blown away by their performance, but I didn't think they were a waste of money and I still have them as backup knives to the chef-quality ones we received for a wedding gift (also, a few of the Forever Sharp knives are stored with our camping kitchen supplies). None of them have needed sharpening after five years of use.

I'll have to be on the look out, I need a good set of knives. Of course I always manage to cut myself when I get a new set.

Thanks....I'm feeling a bit better about my purchase. I think the thing is they inflate the value so much that you think you're getting a deal, when in fact you are paying a fair price at their alleged 'sale' price.

I think they would work well on chicken...but I've only had mine for 24 hours, so I'm not sure

On the bright side for me, I did not have a bread knife except for one that is old and dull as the hills. Now I have three
