Did you ever notice people always say "up" is north and "down" is south but now matter where someone is going they are alway going down there (down the street, down the road)? I am a born and raised Yankee transplanted to KY 7 years ago. Can you say culture shock?

I'll use the word "over" for anything. Examples would be:

"I'm going down to Oregon" - starting place is Washington

"I'm going up to Washington" - starting place is Oregon

"I'm going over there" - starting place variable


And about typos and such... Who cares? It's nice to know that you aren't committing the terrible crime of TWI (typing while intoxicated), but, as long as you can get your point across and don't type "in a manner dat makes ppl think dat u r an idiot" then all is good

But we are a bit different...

Southern, I am not sure you recognize that the reason everyone gives you such a hard time is that they feel a great amount of affection for you, your just so easy to love.

So therefore we all give you a hard time, kind of like one would a sister.

I think the whole North and Southern States thing stuck after the Civil War and which States sided with which during the War. That is always what I assumed....
