rhetorical question... why are dummies allowed to procreate?

Ok, finally calmed down. Been peeved for 8 1/2 hours is enuf for me. Night all!

I hope you got some sleep last night. You have to draw the line somewhere and after taking in the child and watching in dismay as a thus far unproven/unapproved (IMO) family jerks everyone around to get their way, proving their word is crap and that they won't follow the procedures that are put in place to protect EVERYONE is CERTAINLY a darn good place to draw it! (Huge sentence, sorry) I'm glad you informed the agency of exactly what's been going on and I'm super glad you did it in writing because I have a feeling that whether or not that child stays in your home, this won't be the last time that their attitude makes trouble.

well, I was at the agency today, and J was livid that I sent that email out and kinda had an attitude like who are you to tell me what you are willing to do... and was even further insulted that I brought up that another incident like yesterday happened they'd be finding a new home for the girl... Wanted me to make a decision right THERE ON THE SPOT. Ok, fine, I'll be back in an hour and a half with all her belongings...

Thats when the back peddling started and this waffler and inexperienced adoption coordinator. He calmed down and shut up when I told him exactly how it was going to work, even suggested that he pull out my contract with that agency to peruse it to see if I knew what I was talking about (which I did) I also asked him if he wouldn't mind getting his supervisor involved, as well as the VP and Director, because honestly he was pro parents and not pro kids.. which he is supposed to be.

By the end of the conversation I got every concession I was asking (drop off and pick up at agency during agency hours) and that's it.

I ended up speaking with J's supervisor N about a different matter and told him I'd like to apologize in advance for making his adoption coordinator a eunuch. Apparently J never put his boss in the loop so I forwarded all correspondence and recounted the tale.

N said I was totally in line, I wasn't being unreasonable, and he had serious misgivings with both his employee and the potential family. I told him I had a few red flags raised, but think in the end it is more of a problem of 2 families with the same mindset (stubborn) getting off on the wrong foot. For the sake of the lil girl, I'm willing to continue to work, but NO MORE arguments in front of the girl, and meet at the agency. I am glad somebody there was on my side, because it's usually 3 or 4 of them behind a desk cowering as I tell them how the laws in the state work, and how they are failing (laws, DHS & agency). It was refreshing to have N ask me if I minded if he followed up on this with his adoption worker at the close of our conversation

He's always been one of the good guys!! Honestly I love working with most of them there, but they are too overwhelmed, handicapped by a system that is broke, and subject to the whims of DHS who have a caseworker with 60-80 kids each
