Foul pox? A type of CRD? I don't know... Please help!

Sorry it took so long to respond.

I doubt they have avian flu, though its always a possibility, especially nearing fall. They could, however, just be preparing to molt. During this time they look and sometimes act pretty sickly. Get them all somewhere warm but not hot with fresh water. Get them on vitamins or scrambled eggs, keep them calm and clean, entice them to eat and drink as this will help them fight off whatever it is they have. Keep them on antibiotics and try not to stress them.

I really hope they get better!

Thank You so much!!! I'm going to give them scramble eggs tomorrow and will make sure they drink their vitamin water. I think I will put some Vetrx under their wings in a little while so they can breath better. From here I can her some random sounds (" bok") from the coop. I was talking to a chicken expert I know and they could be congested. What will help with that?

I hear that warm, humid air (such as running a warm shower near-by) can help chickens breath better. Other then that, I'm not sure.

Have your chickens been wormed? Also I would check them for evidence of mites and lice. Mites and worms can cause anemia. A vitamin solution such as Poultry Nutri-Drench or Poultry Cell vitamins also contains iron, and the oral dosage is 1-3 ml per chicken daily. Valbazen is an excellent wormer--dosage is 1/2 ml orally, and repeat in 10 days.

My girls have never been wormed, I've checked their feces and haven't seen anything, but that's not much help. I checked one of my girls for mites/lice but didn't see anything. I only saw white specks that looked exactly like dandruff . I wasn't able to check the other one because she squirms too much and I have to grip her so tightly that I can't part her feathers. They have been better, but I just saw one of them gasping for air and yesterday night I could hear them making bok sounds every once and a while. They have been drinking more water then normal, but eating fine. I'm in the process of cleaning their coop right now and am going to spray the inside with cleaning alcohol. Is that bad for them?

Also, can I eat their eggs if they are sick?

And, their combs have black spots on them… maybe it's dirt… I'll take a picture and post it to get a better look.

Lastly, one of my girls face has been very pale. And both of them still have white earlobes. The one with the pale face has an almost completely white earlobe and the other one just the center someone please tell me what to do.

So far their only medicine as been Vetrx (but never orally) and electrolytes. Shoud I give them something else?????????????????

Also, their feathers have been kind of parted at the ends, what does it mean? I will post a pic soon.

If it has been very hot and humid then that may be what is causing the problem. My girls drink a lot, get runny droppings, pant, go pale on their legs, faces and combs, and become far less active when it is hot out. They much prefer the cooler mornings and evenings.
The heat and humidity may be causing respiratory problems if they don't get enough fresh air in their coop at night. Make sure they have plenty of ventilation and it isn't dusty.

My hens have black dots on their combs because the other hens and roosters sometimes peck them.

Thank You so much. I just got off the phone with the woman from North East Bird Clinic and she said it was probably something viral and I should just keep doing what I'm doing. It has been pretty hot lately, kind of like the last heat wave before the end of summer. All this information makes me feel so much better, because I'm always so afraid to think about losing my girls. To me they aren't pets, they're like my children… I've raised them since they were a day old, and I've watched them grow. Thank you so much to everyone who commented in this thread, your words are priceless pieces of knowledge.

Help! The chickens are getting worse. They have sneezed many times and I think I saw one gasping for breath. They have been eating and drinking, but their combs haven't been red for a two days. They are just a pink reddish. I can tell one has even lost a bit of weight. Someone please help me figure out what is going on…I want my healthy chooks back...
