We found a very skinny puppy alone out in a field yesterday about 2 miles from our house. When we opened the door she jumped right in and we knew she would get shot by the owner of the cattle who are in the field if we didn't take her. We posted several lost signs around the area, posted on Craigslist, and alerted the shelter. However, 24 hours later we haven't heard a word. The pads on her feet are pretty cracked and she is definitely too thin. In the right light, I can count her ribs. I get the feeling that her owners have long forgotten her. Maybe not though. She looks like she is about 4-5 months old (maybe), and I am guessing she is part German wirehaired pointer and part pit bull. She has a little wiry mustache and a short tail. She also has pit bull eyes and face though. She is SO sweet and such a good girl! She slept in the crate without a peep all last night and when I took her out to go potty she didn't even have to go. She had no accidents and is very good around the chickens. She loves people and eats a LOT of food already. If her owners don't turn up, she might just have a home here with us.
However, I will try not to get too attached in the meantime. Here are some pics, she looks a lot smaller in person and thinner too. Not the best because she can be pretty bouncy!
