Oh I get it, when I made a living as a performer, I lasted 6 months (one season) off ramen veggie stir-fry (2/99 cent bags of frozen mixed veggies, noodles from a ramen packet, and sauce packets left over from eggrolls at lunch), mac -n- cheeze (off label, with 2/99 hot dog slices), and whatever canned fruit the 99 cent store had that wasn't too icky. As bad as it is to say, I gave alotta first-dates to guys who weren't attractive for the dinner portion.

Handy tip, work as a waitress, you'll be given tons of food at the end of the shift that they need to toss out anyways.

Every year when my class does the Civil War we make Hard Tack and several other recipes from that time period and they have a blast!
