We have our brooding box set up in our basement. Today I went down to check on the chicks and one of our Ameraucana's were perched on the edge of the box. Our weather outside is the warmest it has been at 52 degrees. Could weather have this effect that the chicks are longing to be in their natural environment? We purchased these chicks last weekend and they are growing fast and getting new feathers everyday.

they just like to sleep in the highest possible place. I'd put a screen or something over the top to keep 'em in

Just like anything else they like to explore, they also like to sleep high up so you could put a bar in their brooder for them to perch on.
