Found an egg on my dock

Does anyone know how I can set this up to get email updates? I've got to see the end of the story! I'm afraid I won't be able to find this thread again ...

Thank you for all of your advice! Any guesses on what day it is on? And what day I should stop rotating the egg and raise the humidity?

Considering we don't know the type of egg, I'd say use 26 days as a guideline for when you expect the egg to hatch (25 for egret, 27 for heron, 28 for duck) Go into lockdown (stop turning, keep incubator closed and increase humidity to 65%) It won't hurt baby if lockdown is a day or so early. Good luck! Exciting to see it develop.

Sorry to be a downer here but I really don't see this ending well. The chick is going to need to be fed and raised by a licensed rehabber and someone who knows what it needs. Once it hatches you'll have a limited time frame to get food for it and feeding it incorrectly will kill it. Please try to contact a wildlife rehabber again or fish & game.

Egret eggs are turquoise! It’s possible some creature took it from the nest and was going to eat it but dropped it or something. Other times the mother will cast it out of its nest if she knows it is infertile or unlikely to hatch.
I have 3 very sweet lovably Faverolles that soon will be a year old and I have two nice nesting boxes and I find single eggs everywhere in the yard along with the floor in the coop and it is driving me crazy because by the time I find one some have had the inside eaten. What is making a small hole in the egg and eating the contents? What can I do to change this problem? Two of the hens lay their eggs in the same nesting box but not this one so I have an egg hunt everyday to see if she laid an egg. I have had chickens as pets for since I was a child for about 60 years and I never had this problem before. Is she just plain stupid or what?

Can't wait for the chick to hatch! Have you contacted the wildlife rescue yet? Maybe you can set something up where they give you the food for the chick and when it hatches you feed it and drive to the rescue? :jumpyOnly heartless people would judge you for saving the egg, people that work for wildlife rescues usually aren't heartless. As long as you save it and bring it to the rescue immediately, I don't think that they would judge you. Just one big thing first, sadly you shouldn't bond with it because when it is released, it is for the best to make it stay away from people.

Found this after watching a YouTube channel called a chick named Albert, and I was fascinated by the channel. Then I see this post and stayed up way to late reading all the posts, I don’t even own any birds nor have I ever incubated eggs but this story is just so wholesome that I had to sign up for an account to watch this. Can’t wait to see the chicky!
