Found Baby duck

I've put 2 of my smaller chicks in with him. He also has a heat lamp.
The chicks are terrified of him! Which I find funny, since he is so tiny.
I am keeping a close eye on them to make sure things are going good.

Apparently a healthy fear of ducklings is a common thing; for instance my full grown Campbell nearly tripped over sideways trying to crab away from my day old ducklings at full speed!

Found day old baby mallards from a local just down the road from me who hatches them rather frequently! Pretty excited

must be a "man thing" I've seen the same in the Homo sapien species!

Maybe they're worried about a mad mother duck attacking them. On the other hand, I've seen older males shadow and follow a lost duckling, probably hoping to find the female so he can mate with her.

I just got off work and am waiting for the guy to be home. I am going to get 3 little mallard friends for him. Just hatched last night.
I have decided yo name this little duck "gremlin" after seeing that all the chickens were terrified of him and he would run around and they would go nuts every inch he moved. It made me think of the movies, and how the one was super cute, but everyone still wanted to kill it because all the others were evil!
He is still doing good, but I am sure he will be thriving when he has friends.
