Found budgie

Hello

Firstly this is not the site to ask about how to look after a budgie.
But anyway here goes...

I saw a budgie flying around yesterday and today my neighbours caught it.
They have no idea how to look after birds so they gave it to me.

I had the perfect cage for it (given to me a while back)
So i placed newspaper at the bottom, a water contanier and food one.
I had budgie seeds at home anyway so its great.

The bird is so far tired and he did eat some seeds
He is talking a bit.

Now i know these birds get lonely and im pretty sure there was another white bird flying around. So far ive left him in the kitchen where we can see him. Oh im also going go slowly get him used to me.

Any tips on advice and such?

Don't keep him in the kitchen. It's mot safe for them with the fumes and everything. Try another active room - maybe the dining or living room.

Give him some fruits. Round roosts (of material that will not hurt him if he tries chewing it) at different heights and of different widths. Maybe a mirror or some toy to keep him distracted.

Are you sure on gender?

I dont know his gender but wil assume he is a boy because he is chatty.
Its not nice saying 'it'.
I will cut some fruits up and give it to him.

Aww I love budgies! They like to make noise so try to get him a little bell.Play the radio for him or put him in your tv room. Don't forget to give the guy some grit.

I know right! Well I did have a swing and a bell plus various orher stuff that came with the cage.
I took them out a while ago so I will to search for them again.

Girls can be just as chatty as boys.

Telling gender is not hard, actually. Though some budgie colors make it harder to tell than others. What color is he?

Hi,
Thanks for the info, I do think she is a girl now!

I did buy her another friend. She is quite young compared to her friend but there were no other birds younger.

She and her friend are getting along nicely i guess. They talk to each other and are getting to know one another. The new bird i got has a quiet nature so thats good. The new one is also a female.

My blue budgie is called Loki.
His friend is yellow and guess what is named thor. I know i know, not exactly girl names.
