Could she have an egg stuck?

I dont think so. I have five leghorns and I get five white eggs daily. I think I may have found an avian vet half way close enough and will be calling Monday. She's in pretty good spirits but her booty is looking ugly. I soaked her again and tried to clean her up again, theres one chunk of gross stuff that wout budge, but it was only half as bad today as it was yesterday.

Thank you! I'm still waiting for a call back from a vet out here. It's been two days, something tells me I've been forgotten

I shall call in the am. Im hoping I can just set up an appt. and they can fix her up all nice. I'd hate oolet her suffer any more than she already is.

She's all stitched up and we go back next week to have them removed

Should I be worried that an egg could get stuck with those stitches in? If it did would it be safe to soak her like I would if she didn't have stitches?

Not sure if anyone is still around to help me one more time. I've taken the hen with the prolapsed vent to the vet twice. They stitched her up both times and it still won't stay in. They said the next step would be surgery and it wouldn't be a guarantee that it would work. If I dont do the surgery I'd have to put her down. Any opinions out there? It breaks my heart, but I dont know what else to do.

I know it is so very very difficult and painfull but in my opinion the best thing is to let her go to chickie heaven. The physical pain and stress we put animals through to avoid our own emotional pain sometimes is not fair to the animal. I don't mean to sound calloused or cold. It is just called 'tuff love.' I think back on all the animals I have tried to save, only to have them die anyway. There is not a one that looking back if I knew then what I know now I would have let them go in peace and not subjected them to all they went through 'trying to save them'. I guess I sound like a tough ol meanie but I am just the opposite. Just a lot older and wiser. Really consider letting poor little chickie rest in peace.
