Found my goose dead in a pool, looking like this... (graphic pic)

I've had a dog do that to chickens.

Im not sure which one is the male. But there is one male and 3 females. I had just bought them a month or two back. The owner had them all from babies.

Yes there are coyotes. I just heard them right now... They can't get into that pen... so i'm assuming it was someone in the pen...

im so sorry to hear that we had dogs try to get in but sorry pups to things wrong frozen ground and 2 feet of fence under and and the roof is covered then i grabbed a small metal snow shovel and ran at them full speed and yelled at the top of my lungs they ran full speed to the field that ends in the woods

Im so sorry that you lost a goose. How sad.

My first thought, since the goose was found in the pool, would be that she was drowned by overzealous breeding on the part of the male.
It is quite possible that he caused the injuries, as well, if it is bare skin with all the feathers pulled, but no puncture marks from teeth.

Were there any injuries that might indicate a predator, such as puncture wounds or rips in the carcass?

I'd say it was a goose on goose attack. I once had a group of male ducks completely pluck the back of another male duck that wandered into their territory. The poor thing didn't make it - it's back was much worse than your goose. In my experience, any dog, or fox or other predator is not going to leave the bird in the pool and would have caused much more damage. I would determine which is the male and which are the females and keep an eye on them. If the male is stilll alive, he could be too aggressive in his mating. Or, it could be that the females are fighting amongst themselves.

Our goose just started laying eggs, seems to think its Spring, so if your geese are adults they could be entering mating season.
