I am glad to hear you won't kill the snakes. I have been around big snakes my whole life and never seen one squeeze the insides out. I don't think it was a snake, prolapes maybe. If it was a snake the bird would be slimly feeling from the siliva. They need a lot of siliva to lubercate the prey to help get it down. Remember too snakes can eat prey that is 3-4 times their own size. As for the snakes, you can always catch and release away from people. But snakes don't eat much, a large snake will useally eat 1-4 times a year depending on the size of it's last meal and temp.
