Found one of our girls dead lastnight

no i am sure our dogs did not do this as they were both locked on the deck at the time. when i first saw the guinea fowl dead i thought the neighbours dog did it but there were no teeth marks and no feathers pulled out or anything, just the bird with all its intestines out its rear.

guinea fowl galore i am sorry about your loss
and it must be hard to hear her mate calling
for her and if you can try to give him a new
mate before he dies of loneliness.

I can't kill an animal for doing what they are suppost to do, snakes everywhere in the world would be killing their prey, the only thing different is that we plonked down a house, put up fences and supplied them with easy food ( poultry ) so it's our fault not theirs.
I am not by any means intending to be rude I am just stating why I will not kill the snake

I see you state your location as "Sunshine Coast". I`m guessing you are in south Florida. Those big snakes are becomming a huge problem in south FL, often getting big enough to take a dog or a deer. Only a matter of time before one takes a child. They are not native, but the product of irresponsability by owners that no longer want to care for them. They breed quickly and efforts are being made by the Fish & Game to control them, but to no avail. If you can`t kill the ones you see, at least call F&G to take them away. It`s the responsible thing to do.......Pop

Lollipop is correct. In fact, Florida authorized a python hunt this summer. Pythons are not native to Florida....therefore they have no natural predator. Their numbers are exploding right now and the state fears that they will start to move further north. I lived there in the late 90's and it was starting to get bad then. If you call the fish & game commission, they might come out and trap it for you.

On a similar note...Monkeys and tropical fish aren't native to Florida either, and scores of them live behind the Miami airport! lol Both were released by 'sympathetic' airline employees when they were not picked up at the airport.

Stake out a bird once a week away from the coupe for sacrifice then or have deep smoked snake for winter meals.
