I just found these. They seem perfect and sooo sweet. If only I could get a conure, let alone three :hit

But it was also like a month ago so maybe they found homes. They seem to know their personalities very well and be very attached so I wonder why they need to rehome them - they don't say. Maybe money or time or space or something?

Hahaha probably quite a few! But then I'd be overrun with chickens and need to build multiple new coops and I'd probably start getting noise complaints... not that there's anything wrong with any of that! :lau :gig

But awww yes, I do know that. Thanks rich :hugs

Time and noise. These birds need attention and its great for the first few months/years then it becomes work especially if you have a small change in life style that eats into what use to be a couple of hours a day bird time. The price isn't that special I think its designed to stop people from making rash decisions which is why they didnt say free to good home. Don't get me wrong the people selling are probably putting the birds first and they care a great deal for them but at the end of the day for what ever reason they believe someone will give them a better home.

Just buy them then build a bird gym like this

then you will just about as nutty as me

That makes sense, especially since they're only about a year old so probably just now finding out how much work they are. And hmm, that's very true. Though by money I more meant maybe they couldn't afford them anymore either. But it's probably more the time or life change thing like you said and three probably make a lot of noise. And I don't know, it probably isn't that special of a price but I've seen ads around here for like $150 or $200+ just for one and in the stores they're like $300 or $600 or something plus of course the cost of the cage, which is included. So idk, I guess it depends on the area. But like you said, it's probably more designed to make people think. Although having to take all three would cause a lot of people to pause and think too. And wow that thing is great!!! So are they not caged then? I bet the birds love that thing! So much to do, wow

Dont rely on what you read in adverts. My photos and writings of Tinkerbell and Riamfada got hijacked often which irritate others a lot more then it irritated me. Such as

    Riamfada for sale

I was going to write on other stuff, such as the details how I crossed over Himalayas from Nepal into Lhasa and more. Something else came up that pushed that all to backburner other than brief mention after this.

Last night I had an email from this gentleman in Alaska.

    He wrote

First off, I must mention that I found your website blog location under one of the pictures that was enclosed; and that I found your site very, very interesting. I hope you don?t mind if I continue reading your of your adventures.

Secondly if you indeed have moved to Anchorage, Alaska, USA (as stated in the second email) and want to part with your bird I would be very honored to be considered.

My purpose in writing is to alert you to a possible scam using your name and pictures.

    R P

    I replied to him.

Thank you for alerting me to this bloody scam.

Those people are trying to part you from your money with you getting nothing.

Fly time, fly height are a load of garbage only low life can think about.

I am still in Muscat, Oman with Riamfada , and with Katie and Dommie.
Read the latest that I wrote in my livejournal.

No one else would have given a name like Riamfada to a grey, or any other creature unless you love David Gemmell and the Rigante world that he created. And naming the kitties to be Dommie and Katie as well.

Just like Madoff do exist in this world, other crooks do crawl out of wood work every now and then.

Do enjoy the sagas that I have with Tinkerbell and Riamfada and my kitties. Share them with your friends. I wrote that for all that love their birdies an beasties and feel free to use all that I have written as I wrote that for all of you, other than for those low life that want to scam the rest of you.

I copied this to my wife, the one who took all the photos as she will be amused by it all.

    Warmest regards

ps. I will add you to my mailing list so you get latest update from me as well"

My wife blogged that this morning and in her blog , she found

A search of "Katleen" has turned up ads on other websites. Here's one, from http://www.adsglobe.com/pets/view.ads?listingId=30289&from=S&channelCode=P&typeCode=F:

I have two African Grey Parrots. They are male and female and have been DNA tested. They have acquired large vocabulary and have great personality. They comes with their play perch, cage all of their toys. They lives with other birds and are good with children. If interested, email us for more details and photos..."

I went there and saw that advertisement.

So I wrote to dear Katleen that

Regarding the listing Handfed Congo African Grey parrot for rehoming

    Hi Katleen,
I wanted to have a grey parrot for a very long time now.
Please send me more details on the grey that you have and how much will it cost me.

    Listing URL: http://www.adsglobe.com/pets/view.ads?listingId=30289

    She wrote back.

Exactly as above. With loads of pictures of Riamdada, us all doing neighbourhood walks, at Jebel Shams, at Dosteen restaurant, at Turtle Beach resort, and Riamfada munching on that chicken bone.

I thought of asking her more, how is it Anchorage , Alaska had this balmy sandy beaches, the background with people in T shirts and shorts. Regardless of global warming, it must be a very warm summer in Alaska.

You seen that "her Fly time:8minute,Control distance:12M . Flying height:12M," rubbish?

How on earth can those rubbish be even thought about?

I think even a clipped grey can walk 12 meters in a few seconds.

Do warn your friends of this @#$$%^%#@!#$$% scam going on.

(edited 40 minutes after I posted this. I just realised
the weight of this Riamfada is 0.99 kg. Maybe she gotten a B&G and
spray paint that B&G to a nice shade of grey)

and then plagiarised from Tinkerbell for sale // Riamfada at Wadi Bani Awf and Nakhal revisited http://shanlung.livejournal.com/106876.html

    Tinkerbell for sale

    Yes folks.

Dear Katleen seemed to be at it again.

I got an email last night from an irate guy telling me how my photos of sweet Tink were hijacked.

    That person wrote

    someone is using your pictures.

    The person running this add:

is sending the pictures of your bird. They sent an email and mentioned names tagged in your photos as well. We weren't sure if this was a true add or not. They mentioned that the birds name is love and 14 months old. I can see from your albums that your birds name is Tinkerbell and you have pictures from 2005, so the bird is clearly not 14 months old. It seems to me that you love your bird and have no intentions on getting rid of her. The person has been reported, however i thought you should know that whoever this person is, is sending people who reply to the add, your photos.
    Have a good one.

So I went into that ad. And saw that running in Anchorage, Alaska.
Photos of Tink were not there anymore, probably removed because of that person who wrote to me.

A different email was used this time. And if you all recalled, dear katleen of Anchorage Alaska was flogging off Riamfada the last time. I guess what I wrote in my report was read by her and no more mentions were made of weight of greys and flight time and stuff. More nondescript name was used by her this time.

Perhaps I should have written to ad above to receive photos of Tinkerbell, but she would have recognised my alter email. I am too laid back to go and fabricate a new email just to write to her.

But it is nice to know my photos of Tinkerbell even though it was long time ago were so recognisable that people like dear katleen was caught even though she changed the name.

I thanked that nice person for pointing this out to me of course. I told him I felt it impossible to stop that kind of nonsense by people like dear katleen, or whatever she want to call herself to be.
