Found these little things on the storage can I use for the girls feed.

Is the storage can in the coop/barn??? Looks like you have a mite problem!!! A permethrin based product will take care of it if you are in the USA.

Are you using a really close up lense to take these pictures?
Probably grain mites.
Harmless but annoying.
They feed on the chicken food.
I had an infestation a while ago with my button quail. They came from the feed store. I cleaned everything and now freeze their food with DE mixed in.
Next time you go to tsc look on your bags you buy, you will see them. You just have to look closely. They look like moving salt.

I didn’t even know there are “grain” mites!!! One more creepy crawly to be paranoid about.

Oh I about blew up my house with cleaning agents lol
I was horrified and disturbed
Always wipe down any bags you buy from your feed store, more than likely they are where you are too. I told tsc and southern states each time I went in there and they still have them all over the bags.
