Found this little guy on the side of highway :(

Was traveling to a dr appt and spotted this little guy/girl on the side of the highway sleeping of course I stopped on the way back home, it was like it was meant to be. It came right up to me with some talking and food to him.

I had a mallard Duck 10 years ago so I have some experience with ducks, but not sure what kind this one is & if it’s even a female or male?

I immediately took it home put in the back yard with my 5 chickens and seems to be doing alright gave it some food and got my dogs pool out and filled it up with some water.

Aww he/she is so cute!! I don't have any experience with geese, only with chickens. So I won't be able to help you in finding out what it's gender is.

I wonder what happened to him, though. Maybe he got lost? Because geese don't usually come walking towards you, so he was most likely some else's goose. At least he's in good hands.

It 100% had to be someone’s, he/she was so scared tho I can just tell. My heart for these guys are so big and my chickens. Not sure on a name yet... but just happy he is welcomed into a loving caring home.

She must have been someone's pet. Well done on rescuing her. I say 'her' as she looks female, but geese can be difficult to gender ID.

Good on you for rescuing her. Definitely watch her in the house. Geese are like toddlers. I can only imagine what she could do to a Christmas Tree with no supervision. lol
