Four eggs in 24 hours?

Dumor is crappy feed. You may want to consider switching to a higher quality layer pellet.
I think it's more an issue with one single chicken than with their feed. If it were an issue with all of them then we'd consider switching but all the others are doing great. Thanks for the suggestion though.

I'm not crazy about Dumor feed either but many people use it. I have used it in a pinch when I ran out and my regular feed store was closed so ran to TSC and picked up some feed. Maybe because the birds were used to other feed but they didn't seem to eat it as readily as the other feed I use. My birds are molting so I'm feeding them some higher protein feed. I do use oyster shells. I put it in their feeders and they take what they want. In years past I put the oyster shells and grit in separate dishes but they kept getting it all over the floors.

Yeah, I know it's probably not the best feed but it's a good price and all of our girls seem to like it and are doing well on it. Scarlet is the only one having issues. The others do just fine between free-ranging a few hours every day, their feeders, and free choice calcium. They aren't molting and from what I've read won't until next fall since they're still young and this is their first fall/winter.

Their first year they molt several times and then after that usually molt once a year. Some molts are light and you may not even notice. This is the time of year here in Florida when the birds molt. Their feathers are mostly made of protein.

Oh ok, guess I was thinking about the major fall molt that they all seem to go through.

Sometimes she acts a little off but then she'll pop out a shell-less egg so I know they don't make her feel great but she gets over it fairly quickly.
They can act weird when a softie is moving down the pike. First time I saw it freaked me out a bit. I must 'feel' weird.

Agrees, this is single bird issue.
Maybe I missed it, but what breed is she?
Am guessing high production sexlink/hybrid...they are more prone to reproductive issues. It may just be a glitch that will eventually smooth out, or not.

Sorry didn’t mention the breed. She’s a barred rock. At this point we’re just hoping that it’s not some kind of health issue and she just doesn’t know how to chicken properly.
