I bought 4 production blue chicks from TSC. According to the store employees, these are female production blues.

Since they looked pretty neat and it was the only chicks they had, I bought 4.

As they grow, I am questioning if they are truly females and not a different breed in fact.

How old are they? 8wks?
Looks like you got 2 cockerels ... #2 & #3
#1 looks to be a "blue" although the rest look black (?) but then could just be lighting.
As to verifying "production" blue or breed, not very sure

When I picked out the 4 chicks they all ranged from black to almost silver. I asked for a super dark one and a very light colored one and 2 somewhere on between.

They all started out with black beaks, legs and feet, combs and eyes. Two recently have had a change in comb color.

I'm questioning the breed because they are so black. Black feathers and everything else. Plus they are all supposed to be female too

My sapphire olive Eggers have yellow beaks and are much more gray in color than the supposed blue production

Having exactly the same experience with Production Blue pullets bought from tsc. I picked one light and one dark, the dark one is looking very roo even at 4 weeks.
