Fowl Pox - Steps to take AFTER?

Hello all! I'm a first time chicken owner and it looks like my small flock of 4 birds have caught the dry form of fowl pox. So far, I'm just kind of making sure they're staying hydrated and I got a mixture of electrolytes and i think antibiotic or something from the feed store that I'm mixing in their water.

I've heard about the toothpaste remedy to help them deal with the scabs but I'm hesitant to just go out there and start slathering them up lol..

Aside from these two things - are there any other steps I should be taking now to help them cope and more importantly after? Do I need to burn all their bedding and till their run/etc? Aren't they immune from it after this?

Welcome to BYC.
You're doing the right thing by giving your birds electrolytes. There's no need to give your birds an antibiotic. Fowl pox is a virus and antibiotics are ineffective in treating the virus. It will run its course and will eventually go away on its own in about 4-6 weeks depending on the severity of the disease.
Put iodine on the lesions. It will help shrink the infective lesions. Avoid the eyes.

If a one of your birds scratches a lesion near an eye, you can put either Terramycin eye ointment in the eye or Neosporin to prevent bacterial infection in the eye, a little ointment is all that is needed.
Once your birds get over the disease, they will be immune to that particular strain.
There is no need to burn bedding nor till up the run etc...
