Fox Attack - Wound Care - Graphic Pictures - Happy Ending

What I want to know is how did you keep her still while you tended her wounds? I recently had a hen scalped by a hawk and I had a devil of a time irrigating wounds and trying to keep bandages on her. She struggled horribly.
If I have a bird with a head/neck or feet/leg injury I wrap a towel all the way around the body being careful of the wings. Then they usually calm right down. I'll talk to them a minute then can usually go to work cleaning/bandaging with no problems. I worked on a hen with bumble foot once and she went to sleep in my lap! Easy!
The towel trick is not quite as easy when working on the body. Having an extra set of hands helps.

I thank you for these tips. I pray I or anyone else never has another injury to their girls, but having knowledge beforehand on what to do is a godsend!
