Fox kits (mom killing hens)

nothing wrong with being that way it shows you are compassionate, have a good heart and a conscience. I kina wish a lot more folks were like this we would live in a much nicer place kudos to your folks!!

The fox kit has gone to a rehabilitator. It seems like the mom has had enuff. I must have really bothered them they are gone. I guess she moved them to another location. I haven't seen one on the mound in 2 days and no new tracks. Hopefully she stays away.

I just came on to complain about foxes. Broad daylight kill today- we saw the fox and chased him away. She grabbed one of our 5 weekers and gobbled her up. We locked up the ladies and I left for 1.5 hours. Foxy came back and killed my only 2 layers.

I assume that she's got babies to feed. We've all been chatting as a family about today. We all came to the same conclusion. "darn that fox was cute". Better run in our future. All my pullets are locked in the garage until it's ready.

Thanks for sparing that cutie.

Noticed youre in Howell NJ - im in Jackson right around the corner from you ! We've been having a big problem here with coyotes & fox as well. Glad to see the little thing went to a rehabilitator.

I think a rehab place is best for future kits

I agree. It will *hopefully* be able to return to its natural habitat, and that would be the best thing for the little darling

Yea I would hate to see it fall into the wrong hands or end up in captivity

I have a momma and 5 kits living in a tree line about 500 feet from my chicken run. I have the same understanding with foxes that I do with rabbits... Stay out of my chicken coop or garden (in the case of the rabbit) and you will live a long happy life. Get inside the fence and you'll be pink mist.
