I've never seen a bobcat or mountain lion hunting during chicken hours. When we lived in Wise County Texas there were bobcats stalking our cat. This was a near nightly thing they would come under the barbed wire fence at dusk or early night and vocalize.
Regardless the dogs always ran the bobcats off so no harm no fowl:lau

Gosh, they waltz right through here at high noon! Sleep under the trees. I've been trapped in the chicken run for a bit while a big cat leaped over the chicken free range area and decided to groom himself.:gig They are obviously hungry these days!

I suppose if one got agressive he would need to be dispatched. But we also have a coyote den not 300 feet from the coop, bears wander through a lot, we got it all! Killing and relocating isn't the answer out here in the middle of nowhere, where I would only be making room for more.

You don't need electrified fence powerful enough to kill them, a good zap is all they need to persuade them to go elsewhere.

Some people wrap bacon with some aluminum foil and attach to the electric wires WHEN THE ELECTRIC IF TURNED OFF, then wait for the predators to arrrive

Hello and welcome to BYC!! It’s so nice to have you join us! welcome.gif

Foxes are a hard case. I live trap; I've caught young ones, but the adults are very smart and elusive. A few of our guineas got hit last year while free ranging. We're trying out the poultry netting. So far it's worked well. There are good suggestions posted above.
