If you had staggered those clips instead of aligning them vertically the squeeze-through distance would have been reduced by half.

I know. I did that on the back side once I figured that out. Duh. LOL.

One more note on this - it took me a while to locate these at Home Depot because the staff guy didn’t know what furring strips were. Apparently, here they call them strapping boards... and that’s what they’re labelled as at Home Depot.
