Fox Urine to repel Sqiurrels

My in-laws had decent luck using a squirrel live trap baited with cashews. Just don't make the same mistake they did and leave the trap open when you go on vacation for the weekend.

Poor, poor little squirrel. It was an honest mistake, but regardless.

I have "heard" that some people use ratbait. I highly don't recommend it, but to each their own. Just keep the bait and the poisoned squirrels out of reach of everything else in the area.

OR!! What I would do sense a gun is out of the question, if you don't want to trap them using a livetrap, use a rat trap. They make rat sized mouse traps, that you bait and clean out the dead rodent later. Pretty sure if it works for rats, it will for squirrels. It's the giant snap traps that break the necks and the animals die within seconds.

Trapping, if allowed in your area, would be the most effective. Urine, of pretty much any kind, is high in salt content. Few things attract rodents more than salt. As stated above, it is also an attractant to pretty much all predators.

fox urine is also expensive, my co-op sells it for $40 a bottle, a squirrel baffle is cheaper, so is a hav a heart trap, squirrel size, or just moving your bird feeders. i hate stupid squirrels too, i caught one IN my coop eating the chick food!

we sell the squirrel away as well, people say it is no good. some squirrels seem to like the taste of red pepper.

Hi. Don't know if you will get this since it is the year 2013. I have 4 brazen squirrels who have eaten my wood porch. I now have a new wood porch. But you have a bird feeder problem. I buy safflower seeds; squirrels do not safflower seeds. Hope that works for you. I have also heard of putting pepper in with the seeds as mentioned in your other replies.

I am now trying fox urine; so far it is not working. squirells are walking right through it. I would love to shoot them too, not allowed in my township. Good luck. Marianne
