You need to make the coop fox and hawk proof is all. Think dig proof apron and 2x4 welded wire 14 gauge. Fox can't chew through 14 gauge, with a cover on the run, actual roof or 2x4 welded wire no hawk is getting in. To dig proof take said welded wire and cut lenghts 18-24 inches wide to lay flat from run wall out. Ether stake it and let grass grow or lift sod and lay under it. Ta Da! Fox and hawk proof run. It will also be effective for raccoon, neighbors dogs, coyote, fisher cat, skunks.....long list of things that like chicken.
