FPC Annual Fall Poultry Show - Morganton, NC - October 29

i have never been to a show im guessing that there will be a lot of different breeds? i have never had any experience with show quality birds are they expensive? i am mainly interested in oegb

Good quality OEGB can run $20 - $150 a pair, just depends on how nice they are and who is selling them. Show winners and proven breeders can push $200+ per bird.

The club has actually made a profit the last few shows. Profits now will keep shows going those times that attendence is down and costs are higher.

Wonder what the weather is supposed to be like that day? I am praying for a gorgeous fall day so we can yak, chat and run our mouths til they are sore!

Matt, you and I would know nothing about this, of course!

The Catalog is for exhibitors to get their birds in the show. Has the rules, awards, what and when to enter.

There is NO fee to park and NO fee to look around. I would bring cash and carriers for taking birds home. You never know what you will see that you just HAVE to have.

There are always birds forsale in the parking areas. What is there and quantity changes each time so no one can ever be sure what to expect for sure. Bad weather does have a tendency to squash the outside sales, but the livestock building we use in the Fall has a large covered area behind the exhibit hall. Sellers are welcome to use it for bad weather. It has saved the sales at this show before. We also setup the silent auction/raffle in there and will have tables/chairs setup in a picnic/conversation area.

The picnic area has been setup the last 2 years and everyone seems to enjoy having a good place outside the exhibit hall to have a sit down. So many shows just don't have a lace to sit down. That is one benefit of having the show at the fairgrounds. We can use the chairs and tables we need from storage.

What we need is for it to stay dry 3-4 days before the 23rd. Our storage trailer is down in that swamp. We can't carry everything up. If anyone is in the area and would like to help setup on Sunday(Oct 23) at 2pm, feel free to stop by. You can do as much or as little as you want.

Amy I have no idea what you are talking about. I couldn't carry on a conversation if I had too.

Thanks for the info Matt!

I will be there, got to deliver some Delawares I have pre-sold. I have other birds for sale, if someone is interested in anything, let me know and I'll try to take them along for a delivery. I live in SE TN and it's a good chance to get birds that are normally too far away. I have a pair of bantam white wyandottes for sale, bantam barnevelders, some BR cockerels, ect ect ect ect. PM if interested.

Oh, and please note, I won't be there first thing... I just live too far away and have to care for the critters before I can leave the house... I'll probrably be there between 10 and 12. (I know, big window)
