FPC Annual Fall Poultry Show - Morganton, NC - October 29

840 total birds are now entered. That should be it. Everyone assumed Crossroads was going to make this a smaller show then normal. OH WELL!!!

I do not have the breakdown for the individual breeds or classses yet.

wow~~I'm truly surprised.....I seriously thought with Crossroads being the same weekend, attendence would be really low

you know us paranoid Silkie breeders will be awaiting the total...

AND ...
Thanks to the generosity of some really great folks we should have quite a few items in the Raffle and even a couple birds in the silent auction. We could always use more, but I don't like to beg. I am picking up donated items a few times this week and buying some items from donated money. Especially with how the economy is right now, I am really proud of my fellow poultry lovers for supporting the shows.

This sounds great! I am amazed at the numbers. I really thought it was going to be low, too.
I had thought to help out by entering a few birds but I just don't have the time to get birds ready and would have a hard time getting there in time to coop up.
As it is I hope to get there by 9 am. Chicken chores come first. It takes a while to feed and water the brooder room (even done 6 hours prior) and open all the coop doors, find the dog and make sure she guards them well and then finish loading the truck. Whew! I am exhausted and it is still a few days away yet! LOL

Looks like Saturday will be sunny but a bit on the chilly side. But it is Oct!

Who's wearing costumes? I think I will bring a few birds dressed up as chickens!

Looks like the weather is going to be clear for Saturday. Just a bit cool for some of you.

If all the BYC folks can agree on a time we could meet around the picnic area in the back part to have some conversation time. Not that I will be shutting up at any point unless I sneak off to my truck for a nap. Also could make this a snack time.

I hope we can make it. If it is too bad on Friday evening I won't be able to load the birds up. Now I wish I had my dog showing van back! If it isn't too bad I can load everyone on Friday night and keep it parked under the carport and then tie the tarp over it before we leave in the dark Sat. morning. If they say it will be windy though, we probably won't get to come. I do not want to sit out in the breeze too much as it causes me to have horrid headaches. As it is I will be drugged up on arthritis meds from the damp cold. I hate being old!

I so want to see everyone and all the entries and the raffle and the yummies and ....well, you know..... everyone!

Are we thinking photo again this time or not? I thought maybe just get a few photos as we mingle?
It is fun to put names to faces and I always try to wear my West Knoll shirt but if it is too chilly I have to put a coat on so no one will see it. Though goodness knows, you can't miss me and my big mouth.

Thanks, Sandy! I like to bring smiles to everyone! Pretty Girl says
