All birds have to be cooped in by 9am the day of the show. No late entrys. Untested birds will be tested at the door before entering the show building. The Show and Judging official starts at 9am.

As a section is being judged it will be roped off. Interfences with Judges will not be allowed. While a section is roped off, please, enjoy the other birds. Sections will be reopened when the judge(s) move to different section. This allows the judges to do what they need to do quickly without interference, but keeping most of the show hall open to the public.

Sellers will most likely start setting up at dawn(7:30 ish). Those that are also showing get the show birds tended to and in their coops before setting up anything they may have to sell. The birds normally start moving out of the show building by 2pm.

Please visit the concession stand to help support the hosting club. There will also be a Silent Auction for donated Birds and a raffle for donated Items. The Raffle drawing is at 12:30pm. Should be a couple folks selling tickets all day or ask at the concession stand. The Silent Auction at ends at 1pm. You have to be present to win in either.

This should be a really fun day for all. I have never met an unfriendly person at a Poultry show, so don't be afraid to ask all the questions you want. There is no fee to look around. I would suggest bringing MONEY and cages/carriers. Be sure to leave 'self-control' at home.

Thanks for all the info/update Matt. We really enjoyed coming to the Spring show, and I'm sure we'll be at the Fall show. Always fun to look at other people's birds and talk to other breeders. I'll be bringing some young Silkies for sale this time.

If you are selling any females not in pairs you are not going to have them long. I have gotten ALOT of emails and calls the last few months asking if I knew where to get some. I give them info on the shows and tell them best of luck. I only have a pair of growing splash silkies that I might sell later.

Though it appears only you and I are going Matt, I went through my birds today, to see who'd be going to the "sale" outside of the show....

*black/lav split bearded cockeral
*2 blue splash bearded cockerals
*young bearded gray (unsexed)
*a blue and a black, bearded (unsexed)
*a pair of bearded gray, pullet & cockeral (cockeral will be shown though)
*2 two week old bearded blacks (unsexed)
*bearded partridge cockeral
*bearded white hen (will be in show)

So.....if anyone's looking for Silkies, find me at the Show

Hello there,
I will be in Morganton as well! Great to see some new faces at the show. I will be taking a pair of white silkie pullets, black silkie hen, and a white silkie cockerel. As well as a few other breeds. Love meeting new people with same interest!

The show is 15 days away.

Looks like silkies are going to have a good showing. I haven't heard about most other breeds yet, but most registrations don't come in till the weekend before the show. I and the most of the local FPC members will be setting up on Sunday, Oct 24, at 2 pm. If anyone is in the area feel free to stop by the fairgrounds and lend a hand. If everything goes smoothly it normally takes less then 3 hours to go from an empty building to mostly setup for the show.

That is also when I will talk to the club secretary(Brian Price) and get a better estimate on the numbers for the show.

Matt
