FPC Fall Poultry Show - Morganton, NC - Oct 31

Kawonu,

I sent you an email about your calls. I was asking if you have any white females and the prices of them or other females you have. Also, if you had Mandarins or knew of anyone.

Tonya

I don't have any white females but do have an almost white female. Came from a spot call and she is almost white with just a few markings real light. I only have a female mandarian as our drake died last winter...looking for another one to replace him.

Just come look us up. We will be real busy cooping in as we are taking 46 birds and it will be the first time we have ever showed chickens also. We will have several calls to sell but most are males. I'll have a few females so look me up quick. We can talk about price there at the show.

Best of luck with that. You will have to let us know how you make out. Did you bathe all 46 of them???

Actually we have shown ducks now for 2 years. Just first time with chickens....and just 10 of them. And we did wash them the night before last and blow dried them and all that mess....thinking about staying with the ducks.....much easier! Kids love both so that is what matters.

Kawona - if you guys need any help Saturday, let me know. I'll be there with all of the kids, but the older two would be glad to help out, I am sure.

(I bought some ducklings before and picked them up from your wife at the Ingles right before you get to Leicester Hwy, if you're wondering why this stranger is offering you help!

Okay, will do.

Ours are great and were beautiful. I ended up getting more than a wee bit overwhelmed with life once the new baby came so they are living with a friend now. We are down to five chickens and that's it. I didn't realize how much adding another kid to the bunch (one that was not self sufficient! hehe) would make it so much more difficult to take care of things outside.

(If I don't see you and you guys see me, I'll be the crazy one trying to keep up with 5 kid. ;-) )

In about 17 hours I will be putting Noel, standard Black Cochin, in her coop for the show. She is getting ticked at being stuck in a cage these past few days. After the show she will get to play around on the ground again for 10-11 days then another bath and back to the cage.

I plan to get to the show just before 7am. With the crowd that is coming I want to get a good spot to setup. I have to sell some Roosters.

Roosters I am bringing to sell:

Standard Ameraucana Culls - $5 each - All have nice physical type, but bad coloring
**4 Blue but developed stray colors, 5 months old
**1 Splash but developed stray red spots, 5 months old

Bantam Dutch: 3 Cream Light Brown - $5 each
** Great little men that are true to breed, but will most likely have a DQ fault(no spurs). One is 5 months old and the younger Two are 4.5 months old. Younger 2 are extremely friendly and love to be petted. They follow me everywhere. All are very talkative and never shut-up.

Bantam Faverolles: 2 Salmon - 11 weeks old - Exhibition Quality parents and they are looking really nice, underfoot friendly little pigs - $5 each.

Bantam Faverolle/Dutch mix: 1 Salmon in color - 11 weeks old - High strung and loves to run - $3

Matt

You cannot go wrong buying birds from Matt. They are well handled, loved and live in chicken heaven there!

I'll be looking for a (does not need to be show quality, but still pretty) standard cochin rooster tomorrow, but I'm picky so we'll see. ;-)
