I have a pair of 4-month old bantam frizzle cochins. One is black and looks different than the other, I think he may be a frazzle or curly. He doesn't have as many feathers and they seem to fall out when he is held. What do you think?
Thanks for the help!

Are frazzles 'unwanted'?

New to the whole silkie/sizzle/frizzle/frazzle thing. But, I think I heard that frazzle feathers are brittle and fall out easily.

What happens when you breed a frazzle to silkies/sizzles or frizzles?

Interesting topic, would love to be more knowledgeable...

I have a frazzle too who was supposed to be a frizzle. I think this winter, I'm going to have to make sure that she's warm because she's so frazzled that she has bare skin showing.

In the heat, its not too bad but in the cold, it could be deadly. I'm in a climate that only gets a few really cold days but I'm worried about her. So much so that I told hubby she may become a house chicken in the winter.

Frazzles in a warm climate don't do too badly. Certain ones can be unthrifty or unwell but if they're strong and you keep them warm - they are the best and fastest way to make Frizzles.

Never use a bird that's actually weak or unthrifty for breeding.
