Free horse to put on pasture. I rescued this horse which was near starving to death. I managed to put a tiny bit of weight on him but he is still very skinny. I did worm him but was advised against removing the hooks in his teeth. Some cases best to leave them. I wet his pellets and been adding oil for extra calories. He is over 30 , a Arabian. Very sweet and I have ridden him with no issues. But he is still weak , so I think for him best to be in a huge pasture and let him live out his life. He enjoys being brushed and getting attention. I also has his feet trimmed a few weeks ago. He is free but you must pick up I do not have a horse trailer. He does load and unload just fine. He is a good boy just weak from being starved. I do not think he has stopped eat tin since we brought him here. My next project is to buy clippers and clean him up. Contact me if you would like to take him.

I have to ask, who and why was it recommended to not remove the hooks on his teeth? At that age, he needs every advantage he's got.

I think it was because his age i do not remember the reason i was given. I was told sometimes they file them down to much and its best to leave them. I wet his pellets down for him with warm water and also have been feeding him oil to try to get weight on him. I just fel bad because hubby an I really hoped we coud get weight on him. We got weight on the one which is younger. Perhaps to much damage has been done from starving ? Right now he's loose in my yard to graze a he wishes. He seems happy,He follows anyone around like a puppy dog. So i go around and tend to my chickens as he just follows behind me. People ask if I am going to put him down, but he isn't in pain, is not suffering and is eating. So why not let him hang out. But i wont ride him with my big old butt poor guy. Lol
